There are a few steps we need to do to check to see if your Mac needs to be updated, please follow the steps below.
**Please save what you are working on, as your device will require a restart after updating. This update could take some time, depending on what operating system you are currently on**
Our first step will be to check if you need to upgrade your operating system to Monterey:
Please click on the Apple on the top left, then click on About this Mac. The screen below shows an example of what operating system you are on.
**If you're NOT on Monterey, please follow the instructions below **
Open up the GCISD App store at the bottom of your dock. ** If the GCISD App store is not on your dock you can find it in your applications folder in finder** Click on "Upgrade to macOS Monterrey"
.
You will get the following pop-ups
**If you are already on Monterey and need to perform an update, please follow the instructions below **
Go to the top left-hand corner and click on the apple. Then select System Preferences.
Select Software Update
Select "more info" ** It will prompt you to upgrade to Ventura, but we are not upgrading at this time**
Select "Install Now" **This will require a restart**
The update will run and your screen will look like this *update takes about 30 min*
Once it's done, it will take you back to the sign-in screen, and you should be able to sign in as normal.
