You will find instructions to set up your docking station and monitors below. As well as troubleshooting tips. Study which model dock you have and follow the given instruction specified for that model.
Docking D3100 Model
Step 1: Unbox & Connect Dell Docking Station (D3100)
- Connect the power cable to the docking station (D3100)
- Attach square end of USB cable to the square port on the docking station (D3100)
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to the laptop (D3100)
Step 2: Unbox & Connect Three Displays (Dell P2417H)
- Locate cables
- Power
- DisplayPort cables
- HDMI cables
- USB and VGA cables in the display box will not be used
- Connect base and arm of display and tighten with hand screw to secure
- Attach the arm to back of the display by inserting the top brackets first (listen for a “click” to ensure proper connection)
- Connect a video cable to each display (2 HDMI cords will be used, 1 DisplayPort for docking station model D3100 )
- Connect the other end of each video cable to the output ports of the Docking Station
- Connect power cables to all three monitors and turn the power on. (make sure that are pushed all the way in)
- Set each monitor to its proper input setting on the monitors. You will find these settings on the monitors themselves. Image Below

Step 3: Unbox & Connect the Mouse/Keyboard
- Connect the USB receiver to the USB port of the docking station
- Place the batteries in the mouse
- Turn both the mouse and keyboard switches to “On”
Step 4: Unbox & Connect the Webcam
- Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the docking station
Step 5: Unbox & Connect the Wireless Headset
- Connect the USB receiver (found inside case) to the USB port of the docking station
Docking WD19TB
Step 1: Unbox & Connect Dell Docking Station (WD19TB)
- Connect the power cable to the docking station (WD19TB)
- Connect USB-C cable to the laptop (WD19TB) This model docking station charges the computer so no need to connect the laptop's power cord.
Step 2: Unbox & Connect Three Displays (Dell P2417H)
- Locate cables
- Power
- DisplayPort
- HDMI cables
- USB and VGA cables in the display box will not be used
- Connect base and arm of display and tighten with hand screw to secure
- Attach the arm to back of the display by inserting the top brackets first (listen for a “click” to ensure proper connection)
- Connect a video cable to each display (1 will use HDMI, 2 will use DisplayPort for docking station model WD19TB)
- Connect the other end of each video cable to the output ports of the Docking Station
- Connect power cables to all three monitors and turn the power on. Set each monitor to its proper input setting on the monitors. You will find these settings on the monitors themselves. Image Below

Step 3: Unbox & Connect the Mouse/Keyboard
- Connect the USB dongle to the front of the docking station
- Place the batteries in the mouse
- Turn both the mouse and keyboard switches to “On”
Step 4: Unbox & Connect the Webcam
- Connect the USB cable to the USB Port of the docking station
Step 5: Unbox & Connect the Wireless Headset
- Connect the USB dongle (found inside case) to the USB port of the docking station
Troubleshooting:
I don’t see all of my displays
- Right click on the desktop and select Display Settings
- Choose Advanced Display Settings
- Select one of the displays shown
- Under Multiple Displays select the drop down menu and choose extend the desktop to the display
(rather than disconnect this display)
I don’t want to use my laptop as a display
- Right click on the desktop and select Display Settings
- Choose Advanced Display Settings
- Click the identify button and see what number appears on the laptop screen
- Select one monitor number shown
- Under Multiple Displays select the drop down menu and choose disconnect this display
