Teachers can now reset a student password through Classlink but you must be a teacher of record in Skyward for that student. Other staff members (office staff, librarians, admins, etc) will not be able to reset the password for a student. This is a fast and simple process.
PLEASE NOTE: This process sets a temporary password. When the student logs in with the temporary password they will immediately be asked to enter their OLD password (which will be the temporary you just created) then enter a new password of their choice.
Password Requirements
Log in to Classlink then click the Teacher Console button.
Click on the applicable class the student is part of.
Click on Students then click on the name of the student (not the checkbox beside their name.)
In the pop up window, enter a temporary password then click Reset.
Troubleshooting:
1. We've had reports of errors when students on iPads try to use the new password. This is almost always because students are using an old version of Classlink. They can delete the Classlink app and redownload from Meraki.
2. Active Directory error message after resetting a student's password - This is usually caused by the new password not meeting the length and complexity requirements (see above graphic.)
