Calling from your district laptop now available!
GCISD technology is launching phone calling ability from your district laptop. If you have a classroom or office phone with a GCISD extension please review the following information.
With the use of Jabber, you can now make phone calls from your computer that will display your GCISD caller ID. The jabber solution allows you to make and receive phone calls without needing to use your personal phone.
This easy to use program acts just like your phone in your classroom or office.
For Mac laptops
The software will be sent out automatically to your machine. If you do not see the software on your mac laptop by noon Monday, 4/6, please restart your device and wait for 5 minutes. If the software still does not appear, please feel free to reach out to GCISD helpdesk via the link in Classlink.
For Windows Laptops
The software for Windows laptops is available from the SCCM Software Center. If you have any issues, please feel free to reach out to the GCISD helpdesk via the link in Classlink.

IMPORTANT
Please review the handout or video for tips on using the product. The jabber solution works just like your district phone. Meaning to make calls, you will need to dial "8" first.

Also, note the caller ID that will display.
You will be able to place and receive calls when the jabber app is logged in on your device. If you do not want to receive calls on your laptop, all you need to do is log out from the Jabber client.
