Article #6: Annotations
Read this first!
You can use the built-in annotation function on any of the screens except the Whiteboard because it already has annotation capability. You will probably choose to use this on the Windows PC more than anything. There is also another annotation function available on the Windows PC side!
In this article, you will learn how to:
- Use the built-in annotation function
- Take a photo of your annotations
- Access those photos
- Use the Windows PC annotation function within Microsoft Edge
- Create and access PDFs and open them in Edge
- Annotate
Use the Built-in Annotation Function
A great selling point of the annotation function is that it is easily accessible in floating menu no matter what is on your screen. It is also easy to use as it functions almost exactly like the whiteboard that you're already familiar with.
1) Access Annotations:
On the floating menu, press and release the Annotations button:
2) Using Annotations:
It will pull up a similar menu as the whiteboard.
Use the pens, highlighters, sub-menus, and other buttons similarly as you use the whiteboard!

How might a teacher use it?
Use this function while on the PC side to take notes directly over your own documents!
Example:
What are some limitations?
If you switch screens or views of your document - such as scrolling up or down, or going to a new slide - the annotations will not move with the document. They do not save to the document either. You will learn more about a more robust process in the section below called, "Use the Windows PC Annotation Function within Microsoft Edge."
Example: Notice that the notes are gone.
3) Screenshots of your Annotations:
To take a screenshot of your annotations, press and release the picture button at the bottom left side of the screen.
**Note: Because this annotation function is built in, this picture will save on the Android side no matter which computer you are on when you take it!
What if my annotations are automatically taking a picture? Can I change the settings?
Yes!
Press and hold the screenshot button. A pop-up menu will appear:
Make your selection! We recommend selecting "No."
